Town Heritage
Townspeople is a small brand created by illustrator Stuart Walster. We focus on creating products that will last a long time and making as little impact on the planet as we can. Our love for nature plays such a huge part in our brand ethos, and we hope that comes across in the products we make and the materials we use. Most importantly, we want to make products that are fun and that people will enjoy.
Stuart's work is influenced by his upbringing in the Derbyshire countryside, and local history and customs. All of our products feature hand drawn illustrations by Stuart, and we hope to collaborate with other creatives in the future.
Sustainability
We understand that, as a brand that predominantly sells clothing, we will never be fully sustainable. Fast fashion and overconsumption is a huge problem in our world and, unfortunately, every clothing brand will contribute to clothing waste, no matter how climate conscious they are. This is why we do not want sustainability to be used as some sort of 'selling point'.
At Townspeople, we do our best to run the brand in the most sustainable way possible. Our clothing is made of 100% organic cotton, our packaging is plastic free, and we use soy and water based inks on our products. However, as a small brand, it is difficult for us at the moment to be as sustainable as we would like to be. As the brand grows and resources expand, this is something that will be at the forefront of our mind.
