ABOUT

Town Heritage

Created by illustrator Stuart Walster, Townspeople is home to the odd and misunderstood. It's a place where ideas are allowed to grow and manifest, no matter how weird.

Townspeople was created with the desire to make something physical in mind. With the world becoming increasingly reliant on technology, we want to remind people that tangible things are still important. Humans have relied on physical media for thousands of years in order to communicate, and we think it is important that this is not lost.

Sustainability

We understand that, as a brand that predominantly sells clothing, we will never be sustainable. Fast fashion and overconsumption is a huge problem in our world and, unfortunately, every clothing brand will contribute to clothing waste, no matter how climate conscious they are. This is why we do not want sustainability to be used as some sort of 'selling point'.

At Townspeople, we do our best to run the brand in the most sustainable way possible. We work with manufacturers that use organic cotton and pay their workers fairly, our packaging is plastic free, and we use water based inks on our products. However, as a small brand, it is difficult for us at the moment to be as sustainable as we would like to be. As the brand grows and resources expand, this is something that will be at the forefront of our mind.

We would like to encourage customers to think about their needs before buying from us.

Brand Values

We believe in keeping our values close, and we want to stay true to these values as we build our brand. Without your roots you cannot grow.

Environment - We are aware of our impact on the environment and want to limit this as much as possible.

People - We make with people in mind.

Place - We are a town, not a city, we remember where we came from.
